That is what Columban Mission Education is all about. It is a specific objective of the Columban Society “to foster in local Churches an awareness of their missionary responsibility” and to “educate people about the reality of present-day mission.” Our Mission Education Department carries out this mandate by creating and promoting education materials (curricula, study guides, manuals, DVDs, posters, prayer cards, etc.) that are valuable resources and teaching aids for use in school and parish classrooms—as well as in secondary schools and universities—and adult and young adult study groups.
I invite you to look at these materials on our website. I am sure that, as an educator, you will find just what you need to inform and animate your students about the Catholic mission we all share through baptism.
Columban Father Sean Conneely made a presentation about his mission work to schoolchildren in Evanston, Illinois, as part of a Columban Mission Education program.
Also on this website, you will find a letter from me that will let you know what we are working on and introduce mission education-related topics and resources, such as we are doing now with Journey With Jesus. You also can read about how to become a Columban Companion.
If you have questions, want to order educational materials by phone, need help ordering materials through this website, or want more information about our Columban Companions and Columban Affiliates programs, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to help. |
